The AMGK Institute of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry at Ánanda Nagar is a self-employment oriented institute. The institute offers a two year diploma course in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry. It is affiliated with Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and Plants (PCAP International).
Aims and Objectives
1. To create trained workers dedicated to the service of animals and birds.
2. To provide veterinary service, thereby helping the poor villages around Anandanagar.
3. To arouse the awareness among farmers about modern veterinary methods and encourage them to give up primitive ways of treating their livestock.
4. To promote animal husbandry in the area through artificial insemination using frozen semen
5. To improve the local breeds of cattle, buffalo and goat.
Courses Offered:
First year
Anatomy, Physiology, Materia Medica, Animal husbandry and Neo Humanism
Second year
Preventive Medicine, Clinical Medicine, Surgery, Pathology
Theoretical classes: 360 hours
Practical work: 3 hours per day total of 900 hours per year
Average Enrollment is 100 to 120 students per year.
International Students are accepted.
